CONGRESSMAN LOEBSACK GOES BACK TO SCHOOL WITH IOWA’S STUDENTS

This Week Congressman Loebsack will join thousands of Iowa’s students and go “Back To School.” During the week Congressman Loebsack will speak with students on his work as a United States Congressman representing the Second Congressional District. Additionally, in an effort to prepare for the legislative reform of No Child Left Behind, Congressman Loebsack will be meeting with teachers and administrators to discuss how to best change and improve No Child Left Behind.

Congressman Loebsack’s “Back To School Week” includes the following events:

Tuesday, August 28:

9:00 AM CT

Cedar Rapids

Washington High School

2205 Forest Drive SE

Cedar Rapids, IA

Congressman Loebsack will be speaking to an American Government Class on his work and responsibilities as the Representative to Iowa’s Second Congressional District in Congress. Congressman Loebsack will also answer student questions.

11:00 AM CT

West Branch

West Branch Middle School

225 North Maple

West Branch, IA

Congressman Loebsack will listen to student presentations on oil filter recycling, mercury recycling, T-8 lighting systems, and robotics.

2:00 PM CT

Muscatine

Muscatine High School

2705 Cedar Street

Muscatine, IA

Congressman Loebsack will meet with Muscatine High School Principal and Cive Principals to discuss their concerns with the No Child Left Behind Legislation and the reforms they would like included during the upcoming reauthorization of the legislation

Wednesday, August 29:

Iowa City

City High School

Iowa City, IA

Congressman Loebsack will tour City High School with Principal Mark Hansen and discuss how the No Child Left Behind Legislation affects their school, students and teachers

Thursday, August 30:

Ottumwa

Ottumwa High School

Ottumwa, IA

Congressman Loebsack will be speaking to an American Government Class on his work and responsibilities as the Representative to Iowa’s Second Congressional District in Congress. Congressman Loebsack will also answer student questions.
