Congressman Dave Loebsack released the following statement today after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced several grants for community health centers located across Iowa’s Second Congressional District. These grants, which were part of the Coronavirus Supplemental Funding for Health Centers program, are in addition to the funding they already receive from the federal government and meant to directly help combat the COVID-19 illness. Details are below.

“Community health centers are an integral part of Iowa’s healthcare system and it is important that they have the necessary tools to properly treat and care for Iowans,” said Loebsack. “These funds will help the professionals at community health centers in Iowa’s Second District deal with the COVID-19 illness, while continuing to offer the highest quality of care. I will keep fighting to ensure Iowans have access to the healthcare they need to remain healthy and safe.”

Specifically, the Coronavirus Supplemental Funding for Health Centers program has provided:

Burlington – $62,440 for Community Health Centers of Southeastern Iowa, Inc.
Davenport – $80,189 for Community Health Care, Inc.
Leon – $60,479 for Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa, Inc.
Ottumwa – $75,589 for River Hills Community Health Center, Inc.
