Congressman Dave Loebsack recently introduced a resolution to recognize the week of November 12-16, 2018 as National School Psychology Week. H.Res.1146 honors the work of school psychologists as an integral part of the dedicated team of professionals working in our schools to ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve academic success and reach their full potential. The resolution is supported by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
“Students learn best when they are healthy and have the support and resources they need to succeed. School psychologists work tirelessly every day in our schools to help provide students with those resources,” said Loebsack. “I applaud the hard work of school psychologists and am proud to help honor the critical role they play in education.”
“School psychologists are critical members of school teams that support students’ learning and mental health,” says NASP Executive Director, Dr. Kathleen Minke. “They help develop, deliver, and monitor effective prevention and intervention services that improve academic achievement, student wellness, and safe, supportive schools. We appreciate Congressman Loebsack’s recognition of the important work of school psychologists and his sponsorship of this Congressional resolution recognizing National School Psychology Week.”
