Congressman Dave Loebsack issued the following statement in response to the Department of Labor’s jobs report for December 2010, showing that the economy added 103,000 jobs and the unemployment rate dropped to 9.4 percent.
“I am pleased to see that that the national unemployment rate has fallen slightly. However, it is unacceptable that it has remained so high for so long. Iowans are still struggling to find work and that is why we must continue our focus on training for American workers and job creation.
“As the 112th Congress begins, both parties must come together to move our economy forward and put people back to work. I look forward to continuing to work on a bipartisan basis to support American industries, small businesses, and employment opportunities for our workers.”
