WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-IA) announced that Siemens Energy will receive $3,450,900 in Recovery Act Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credits to expand an existing manufacturing plant in Fort Madison. The Fort Madison plant expansion is expected to create 287 jobs in Fort Madison. The resulting products will aid the domestic wind power industry.
“At a time when Iowans are struggling, these tax credits will help spur economic development in a growing industry while providing Iowans with high-quality clean energy jobs,” said Congressman Loebsack. “As we work to rebuild Iowa, we must continue to focus heavily on creating good paying jobs in growing industries that will lead the way into the 21st century.”
Congressman Loebsack has been a strong advocate for expanding Iowa’s clean energy economy, and has worked on numerous measures that support Iowa’s wind energy economy.
