CONGRESSMAN LOEBSACK ANNOUNCES MORE THAN $1.5 MILLION IN FUNDS FOR HOUSING

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Dave Loebsack announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $1,541,543 in funding for public housing agencies. These funds are available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which was signed into law last week by President Obama.  

“Adequate housing for Iowa families is critical,” said Congressman Dave Loebsack.  “During these tough economic times, I am pleased that over $1.5 million in housing funds will go into the district and help Iowans in need.”

The following cities will receive funding:

•    Burlington Low Rent Housing Agency- $317,787
•    Centerville Municipal Housing Agency- $167,774
•    Fort Madison Housing Authority- $233,773
•    Iowa City Housing Authority- $191,853
•    Keokuk Housing Authority- $347,950
•    Lone Tree Housing Commission- $26,040
•    Muscatine Municipal Housing Agency- $256,366
